Lifesavers
Bishop's Waltham Community Swimming
Bishop's Waltham Community Swimming
This Lifesaving Programme / Classes is aimed at giving your child the skills they need to be more confident in the pool and sea. Within the classes, we look at the Royal Lifesaving Society’s Survive and Save program, offering a variety of awards and achievements, aimed at ages 12 and upwards, each offering the chance of 'something different' in the swimming pool!
How about a game of giant lifesaving jenga? Or perhaps learn to throw a rope in record time, all whilst learning the vital skills needed to be able to save someone’s life, and keep yourself and others safe around water!
We run as a rolling program, with our lifesavers taking awards as and when they are ready. What’s more, our awards count towards the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
Skills Gained from lifesaving can help in many ways:
Teamwork
Trust
Confidence
Fitness
Problem-solving
Logical thinking
Our sessions run:
Fridays 20:15 to 21:15
